The novel is apparently being sold with the film's official still as cover (in this case in Italy). Don't think this is the official movie tie-in cover, but nice either way!

Rob will be featured in the May issue of Elle (US). And Magazine Shelf shared a teaser with fans. Read the partial transcript below, or the full article at Elle.
ELLE: How great a novel is Bel Ami?
ROBERT PATTINSON: Amazing. One of my favorites. The script was really good too; Duroy has kind of changed a little bit.
He’s so cynical in the book, but now he’s so convinced that he knows everything and that he’s been wronged, that he ends up being very earnest. He realizes that the whole world he lives in is based on a lie; it angers him so much that he basically wants to burn the whole thing down…and in trying to enjoy everything, he becomes what he hates most: a pompous little shit.
ELLE: Was it fun playing a ladies’ man instead of a celibate?
RP: Completely. I thought it was funny as well—Twilight having quite a bit of a female audience—to play a guy who basically screws women out of money. I like the fact that you never hear of a movie where the bad guy stabs every single person in the back and then wins.
ELLE: So you relished playing a sleazy journalist?
RP: I like the section where he gets a job as a gossip writer and in a completely banal way just makes stuff up—uses the same story and changes the names. I think that still is very, very true.
ELLE: It was once reported that you were pregnant.
RP: Yeah, a couple years ago. That was true, though.
ELLE: Any other odd encounters with the media recently?
RP: A bunch of paparazzi were following me, and I thought the best way to deal with it was to stop my car in the middle of the street and say, “I’m not leaving, and I’m not going to speak to you anymore.” They got all pissed off because they can’t just keep taking the same picture. We were in Venice by the boardwalk, and they kept trying to get all these drug dealers to come up to the car. I was just like, Oh my God, this is insane.
ELLE: Have you ever fantasized about doing something to destroy the “Twilight image” of you?
RP: You know, when the whole thing dries up and there’s hardly any paparazzi around—I don’t know, in 15 years or something—I like the idea of just one paparazzo coming out and trying to get a picture, and I just beat the shit out of him. I mean—out of nowhere—when my picture’s not even worth…and I’ve spent all my money, so you can’t sue me!
ELLE: Is your idea of hell to end up at age 45 posing with Twilighters at a comic book convention?
RP: I mean, that would be totally fine—if I didn’t have any responsibilities, if it didn’t affect my career anymore. I did a couple of those after Harry Potter, when I was totally unemployed. You can have so much fun. There are so many weirdos there.
ELLE: Have you had many near-death experiences?
RP: Yes, loads. I am the worst driver in the world. Every time I get in a car, I call up my parents and say goodbye.
ELLE: What percentage of evil do you think you are?
RP: I mean, I used to think it was more—around 40. I think I was overestimating. I think it’s more like 3, which is very disappointing.
ELLE: Here’s a line from Maupassant: “The essence of life is the smile of round female bottoms, under the shadow of cosmic boredom.” Any thoughts?
RP: That is an absolutely true quote. Round female bottoms are very much a miracle.
ELLE: What would have to happen to make tonight unforgettable? Anything you want.
RP: I just got a little dog, so I’m having a very girly night here with my pup, a rescue mutt. It’s going to sound like I’m making this up.
ELLE: What women did you daydream about as a teen?
RP: I was always obsessed with Kate Moss. On my bedroom wall I had a poster of Linda Blair and Kate Moss. I always liked Jane Fonda. Who else? Ellen Burstyn.
ELLE: Are you ever embarrassed these days?
RP: I guess if you’re constantly in public, you’re not embarrassed about anything. But dancing is my Achilles’ heel—I don’t even try. It’s like, “Come on, dance!” “No, I’m not getting up!” I can freestyle by myself with no one watching. I’m a great dancer then.
ELLE: Director Chris Weitz (The Twilight Saga: New Moon) once described you as “bookish” and a “weirdo…in the best sense.”
RP: I guess I used to be weirder. When you’re confronted with yourself too much, you start to think, Jesus Christ, you’re so fucking boring. And the more you think you’re boring, the more you become boring. I talk about myself too much now.
ELLE: Have you seen the documentary Robsessed?
RP: I’ve seen bits, because someone said, “All your friends are being interviewed in it and talking about you,” and I was like, “What the fuck?” So I watched it. I love these people pretending to be my friends and pretending to have met me, having insider knowledge—and actually some kind-of-famous people who’ve never met me, they just destroy their credibility in one swoop. The one frightening thing is they’ve got it on iTunes, and I looked at all the comments and almost every single comment was, “Who is this idiot making a documentary about himself? Who does he think he is?”
ELLE: What are some descriptions of you that you’ve had enough of?
RP: I never got the “brooding” thing. I’ve had about enough of that.
ELLE: What would you like to replace it with?
RP: Brooded. “Rob Pattinson looking brooded.” Brooded: It’s, like, after you’ve finished brooding.

MTV interviewed Natalia Tena at the opening of the Harry Potter exhibition in New York City Monday, but she seemed more excited to talk about Rob in Bel Ami!
While Rob mentioned a bit of what could be delaying the release of Bel Ami during his interview with MTV, he went into details when he talked to Total Film:
"We were really true to the book and because the guy is basically a shit who wins everything at the end it’s really difficult to market it – especially with me in it"
You can read the rest, including how Rob felt about playing "a shit" over at Total Film. indieWIRE suggests producers may have to go the festival route to market Bel Ami:
Buzz around the pic has been quiet but maybe producers will trot it out to the festival circuit in the fall to see how it plays before deciding how to get it out there? We’ll have to see how it all plays out, but that’s what we’d do.
We'll keep you posted!
Thanks to WFEFilm for the indieWIRE tip.

Like always, Collider's Steve Weintraub has come through for fans.. this time with an update on Bel Ami. He talked to Uma Thurman today, and has an excellent write-up you want to check out. We've posted the video portion of it below, where Uma talks about Rob's role in the film and more!
Uma also talked to MTV about Rob, and she had lovely things to say about him as an actor. And his 'bum'. Read it all at MTV.
Here's what Rob had to say about Bel Ami, when he talked to MTV over the weekend. Let's hope we see this film released soon!
"In Bel Ami, my character marries Robert Pattinson's. Robert's lovely. I worked with him, and he's not changed since then."
You can find the interview in the March issue of the magazine. Read the rest and see the scan at RobertPattinsonMoms.
Rob's Bel Ami costar Colm Meaney was on an Irish show this week, and of course the host couldn't pass up a chance to ask about how it was working with Rob. And the fangirls. Conversation starts at about :45.
Thanks to Robsessed for sharing!

Cineuropa mentions the possibility of the film potentially being part of the film festivals:
The Uma Thurman and Robert Pattinson vehicle Bel Ami, adapted from Guy de Maupassant’s short story, will be ready for Cannes or Venice. Rights have already been sold to Studio Canal Plus for France and Germany. Optimum has UK rights.
LeRPattzClub tells us the lineup for Cannes will be unveiled in April, while we won't know what films will participate in the Venice film festival until July. It seems we don't have much choice but to wait and see!
A new article in The Independent, sheds light on a little company in Scotland that has turned its unique lace making ability into a profitable business with a link to Bel Ami:
It is not the first time that the firm, founded more than a century ago, has achieved celluloid fame. Its lace wallpaper was featured in Sex And The City 2 and it has also provided fabrics for two Harry Potter films, Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and the forthcoming Bel Ami starring Uma Thurman.
As to where in the film the intricate lace work was used remains to be seen, but spotting it will be a fun little task now that we know its interesting background.
You can learn more about Morton Young & Borland Textiles Group at their site.

Kristin Scott Thomas recently spoke to the French press while accepting a Crystal Globe Award. She was asked about working with Rob in Bel Ami, and according to our partner site LeRPattzClub, this is what she replied:
"He is famous. He is loved. He's handsome and he's talented"
I believe (with my limited language skills) that she also said he was a good partner? :)
Watch the video - mention at about :40.
No word yet on when Bel Ami will have a U.S. release.
New information (2/8):
Houmatoday.com says the crew working on Rob's photoshoot was there.. swampy Rob look perhaps?
Big news broke this morning, after a weekend tweet revealed the possibility of Rob doing a photoshoot for Vanity Fair magazine again.
For those of you unfamiliar with Rob's previous photoshoots with the magazine, you can get a glimpse at their site. Needless to say we cannot wait to hear if the rumor is true, and whether the alleged photoshoot will tie-in to the premiere of Water for Elephants.. April cover anyone?
A movie tie-in for Bel Ami is certainly in the works. Bel Ami UK tracked down the link where fans can now order the paperback edition that will hit stores August 4th. For now Amazon is only offering the special edition in the UK, but we'll be sure to let you know if it becomes available in other markets.
Back to Water for Elephants, Algonquin Books now features that movie tie-in edition on its website. It links to several retailers offering the book for pre-order.
Moving on, we've gotten a lot of questions on whether Rob will be at the BAFTA Awards ceremony in London Sunday. While it seems unlikely since he continues to film Breaking Dawn in Baton Rouge (and what a scene this week), we'll let you know as soon as we know if indeed he is confirmed to attend.
Last but not least, there are several ways this week your vote can make a huge difference to get the buzz out on Rob and his projects.
You can give your support by writing him in as your choice of Man of the Year in UK's Glamour Awards.
Water for Elephants is nominated in Logo.tv.com's 'NextNowNext Awards.' You can place your vote for the film here.
Finally, PLEASE go click on Rob's profile on IMDb now. Do it often. He's down to #52 on the STARmeter this week. He belongs at the top of that list. You know what to do.

After cleaning the fish with the help of Bryan Kraemer and Derrick Usea, who drive boats for the swamp tour, ZZ cooked his catch and served at the restaurant for special guests — the crew working on “Twilight” film series star Robert Pattinson’s photo shoot.

Grainger talked to Collider about her role as one of the women Georges Duroy romances in Bel Ami:

Can you talk about the roles you did in Jane Eyre and Bel Ami, which you also have coming out this year?
GRAINGER: When I was younger, I always wanted to do period drama and never got to do it, until last January. And then, this last year was just period drama after period drama. I have a small part in Jane Eyre. I’m one of the Rivers sisters that saves Jane (Mia Wasikowska) from destitution. They’re a very lovely, very godly, very pure family. Bel Ami is the opposite. My character is more like Lucrezia. She’s an evil little witch that knows what she wants and is out to get the guy that she wants. She’s willing to upset her mom and upset anyone, just to get the guy that she wants.

The film is now listed on the Optimum Releasing Autumn calendar. Last official word was that the UK was getting a premiere in August. More details as we get them!

Eszes Szabolcs really looks like the worlds most beautiful man Robert Pattinson, who is famous for his role of Edward from The Twilight Saga.
The actor recently filmed here his upcoming movie, in which Szabolcs was his stunt double.
– I read the books and watched all the movies, but that's all. I went to the casting not because of Robert Pattinson. I thought it will be an exciting experience for me as an actor to play in a film like this (He is an actor is Hungary, mainly plays in theatres ~ Veronika), even if only an extra. Finally that turned out a completely different thing.
– Lots of people came to the auditions. One of my friend was wondering how we could be ahead of the long line. We walked in the hallway when a man coming from the opposite direction just took a look at me and he was suprised how much similarity is between me and Robert. As later we found out he was the casting manager. We went in and they asked if I have any experiences as an actor, and they gave me a smaller role in the movie. I became Robert's dream. This may sound a bit weird, but in the story there is one part when I meet Robert (George), I'm a rich guy, while he's poor. He sees himself in me, and decides he'll become like me. I also got this role because we are the same in size with Robert, so it will look good in the movie he really can see himself in me. Our head was the one thing we had not the same, because his hat was big for me. But the size of our clothes completely matched.
– In the film are many famous actors and actresses. Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas also plays in it. They are big names in the film industry. The shooting wasn't that easy the first few days. It was very cold outside to shoot. There were a lot of fans waiting to catch a glimpse of Robert, they were able to stand whole day on Andrássy street freezing. At first I couldn't even speak with Rob, 'cause he was stressed because of the crowd. An actor is a human as well. During filming actors make a lot of mistakes in the text or they get the whole scene bad. When we were filming the indoor scenes he was much more relaxed. He came up to me and we talked. He asked me who I was and how long was I acting.
Uma Thurman completely enchanted me. We had a scene we filmed in Tihany (it's a beautiful countryside with a lake and some hills and fields around ~ Veronika). After the shooting we prepeared to go back to the capital, but she [Uma] asked for a little time before leaving. I was curious what she wanted, so I watched her. She went back to the Balaton lake-side, because she wanted to take some flowers as souvenirs. Since this is a costume drama, Uma is wearing a big black dress. Adorable. She is very down-to-earth and funny. She did not act like a superstar. She had only one problem. She didn't like the cottage-cheese dumpling she ate one day. In the very last shooting day she invited me to the crew-party where also attended Robert's girlfriend, Kristen Stewart. When I met her, she just pointed to me, and said, "OMG, you really look like Robert!" Of course in english. That was all about meeting her.

In addition to Pattinson, there's also performances from Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman, and it will premiere May 12 in the United States.
The only Bel Ami release Protagonist has confirmed is an August one in London. So either E! knows something we don't, or they put out wrong information. We'll keep you posted.
Thanks RPattzVzlaFans!
Christina Ricci was on Rachael Ray this morning, and she had nothing but great things to say about Rob after working with him in Bel Ami.

In the last movies, I only have romantic relationships with younger guys. Even my 12 years-old daughter noticed that. Of course I’m very disturbed by the fact that Robert Pattinson played my husband.. But my current mate is seven years older than me.
The film is expected to be released next year (no official date for the US yet). And a reminder, Christina Ricci will be on Rachael Ray Monday (12/20) talking about her new project. Let you know if there's any Bel Ami scoop!
Translation by Spunk Ransom.
But there are some challenges to overcome according to the writer. Read the rest at Dark Horizons. Summer/early Fall release in the US?.. we'll take it!
More exciting is the cast with the brilliant Thomas, Thurman and Ricci ably supporting Pattinson who seems a better fit for this kind of material than some of his other projects. He's also joined by some under appreciated great British male talent like Philip Glenister ("Life on Mars," "Ashes to Ashes"), James Lance ("Absolute Power," "No Heroics") and Colm Meaney ("Star Trek: DS9," "The Commitments"). Set photos show off some exquisite looking costume design, but no footage is yet out and a release date isn't locked. At last report it'll be hitting the UK in August which means a likely late Summer/early Fall release in the States
